Christmas traveling.

The airports are crazy!! We were supposed to fly out yesterday morning to Denver and then from Denver to Billings. We got to the airport about an hour early to check in. We knew it was going to be crazy so we made sure we got there with enough time.
As soon as we got to the airport we tried to check in with one of the computer check-ins. It said that our flight to Denver was delayed so we wouldn't be able to make our flight to Billings, so we got into the ticket line to try to figure out how we were going to get to Billings. We waited in that line for about an hour. It finally went to and passed the time that our flight was supposed to leave, but since it had been delayed it didn't matter. About twenty minutes later we finally got to the front of the line and got to speak with the man about our tickets. He looked and looked and couldn't find us any flights to get to Billings that day. We would have had to wait until today to Billings. The man found something from Delta, a straight flight to Billings. He called over to Delta and apparently they had oversold their seats because of a cancellation of an earlier flight. They also said we could take our original flight to Denver and spend the night there and then fly to Billings the next day. We didn't want to have to sleep over at an airport again. They found one other flight but it was on Sunday and we didn't think that was enough time to spend up in Billings. We had told Rita (Jason's mom) that we were just going to stay in Utah. So we asked for a refund and decided to drive. We thought it would be a good idea to keep it a secret and surprise Rita when we got there, she was very upset on that we weren't going to come up. I would have been pretty upset too if I were her, my baby boy not being able to come up for Christmas. The drive was pretty good most of the time. There were a few parts that were a little scary dangerous and I am soooo thankful Jason was driving. Long story short, we made it and are very thankful to be here! We wish everyone else a merry Christmas, and we will be back sometime on the 26th.

More Vegas.

I was just looking at the pictures I posted in the Vegas blog and I realized there is only one that has Janna in it and it's only of her arm. So, I am going to put up more pictures, and this time there will be some of everyone.

Celine Dion

Over the weekend Jason, Tanner, Janna and I went to Vegas. Janna and Tanner went to Cedar City on Friday and we were to pick them up the next morning on our way to Vegas. We went to bed and woke up at 5:30 to shower and get ready to leave by six. The night before it had been raining a lot, so it wasn't that big of a surprise when we got in the car and it had started to snow. The roads were alright for a little while and progressively got worse. It was like a cycle it would be fine, then it would start to rain, then it would start to snow, then it would rain again, and then it would be fine. We made it to Cedar city and picked up Tanner and Janna, we stopped at McDonalds on our way out to get something to eat and to use the restrooms. The stinking McDonalds had flat screen tv's on the walls. It was crazy! They also had tv's in the restrooms!

We made it to Vegas, and it was so nice to see buildings instead of the desert scenery, full of shrubs and joshua trees. Our first stop was at an outlet mall. Jason chose it because it had an Adidas outlet and a nike outlet. They didn't really have that many sales in the Adidas outlet so we kept walking to see what other stores they had and we found another Adidas outlet, they had some pretty good sales and that made Jason and Tanner happy. Tanner got some awesome looking shoes.

We started to get really hungry so we went to our hotel to check in. They had an electronic check in (maybe I haven't been to hotel in a while) but I thought that was really neat! We checked in and put our stuff in the room, and then drove to In'N'Out. We ate and watched a "mustang club" out the window. Before we realized they were a mustang club we were wondering why they were looking at a mustang instead of the Porche 911 Turbo. Haha.

After In'N'Out we decided to try to find an outlet store we had driven past on our way into Vegas. After only a few minutes we found it. The outlet had stores like 'Armani' 'Dolce & Gabana' 'White House, Black Market' 'David Yurman' 'Adidas' and tons of others. They had so many good sales. We went into Dolce & Gabana and found most of the items were on sale... There was a red fur jacket on sale for only $6,000!! Haha. They also had a skirt on sale. It was pink and it was about knee length, I was actually considering buying it (It was on sale for only $30). We pulled it off the hanger and realized there was a slit in the side of it, it would have gone clear up to my upper thigh! I didn't want to get because then I would have had to sew it and I wanted to buy something to be able to wear to the Celine Dion Concert that we were going to that night. We kept walking and found a Banana Repulic outlet store and found a dress. It was perfect! (Also on sale)

We got back to the hotel and got ready for Celine. We then went to the strip. Our hotel had an entrance to the Monorail. We had gotten monorail day passes which would last 24 hours. We got to the monorail and there was a monster brand projection thing that projected a pond onto the ground and when you stepped in it, it would make ripples as if you were really walking in the pond. It was amazing. I really want one! Anyways...

We went to the Venetian and oh my goodness!!! The place is even more awesome than I thought it would be! Janna tried telling me about it and seeing it in real life was just so much better. The ceilings were painted like the skies they even had the gondola's they traveled from inside the shops to the outside, it was amazing. We walked around the strip for a little bit and then finally it was time to go to Caesars palace and see Celine Dion.

We got to Caesars, went through security, went up the stairs and got to our seats. This was the worst, having to wait for her to start. Finally after waiting even past the time on our tickets, IT STARTED! There was a screen on the back of the stage with stairs projected on it. Celine was at the top, and started walking down, lights went out and she was further down the stairs walking down, the lights went out again and she was on the stage!!! Everyone started freaking out. It was incredible. The whole concert was amazing. The only thing that wasn't good, was the directors style. It was awful. To quote Jason, "If I were to take a bunch of trash and throw it on the stage, it would still look better than that" (In reference to the stage and random junk in the show). Celine was fabulous though. At the beginning they had security and made everyone check in their cameras. Tanner and Janna brought them and tanner had to check his in and so did Janna, but somehow they smuggled it in... So we took some pictures. After the show we walked around again. Got some gelato, went into Tiffany's, and Jimmy Choo. It said sale on the window and when we went in to see what they had (just to look at the prices) we didn't see any sale! Haha.

The next morning we went back to the Paris and went to a little place called "La Creperie" It was amazing. They had HUGE crepes! They were so good. We all got some, they had some dessert crepes, and they also had crepes stuffed with actual food. After the Crepe store we left and came home. The whole trip was amazing. I loved it all.

Good Old Utah

The weather here has been pretty nice the past week. (Other than the cold). Cold weather doesn't bother me as much as cold weather plus snow. Yes, this morning we got up at about nine. I turned on the tv to watch/listen to Law and Order:SVU (thank you Tivo) from the kitchen while I did some dishes and made breakfast. As I was washing the dishes I got a glimpse of outside and it looked unusually white. I cracked the blinds and saw SNOW! Yesterday it was raining a lot, and I knew the news said it was going to snow, but it surprised me how much snow there actually was! It was ridiculous. Here is a picture right out our front door.






I don't really know what it is about snow that makes me want to hibernate until spring. I think it might just be the cold, and the fact that people are very scary drivers in the snow, especially in Utah. I really think snow is beautiful. The thing I don't like about it is the cold, and more than the cold, I don't like the wetness of it. I really need to invest in some really really warm clothes and then some water-proof clothes to keep the cold and wet out.

Service... and Suspected abuse...

Last night I went visiting teaching and the message I gave was on serving others. In General Conference one of the brethren spoke on service (I can't remember which brother) and he said that we needed to go out of our way to help people. For instance when visiting teaching, you aren't just supposed to ask if they need something but to do acts of service.

I park my car at my parents house instead of parking at UVSC because I don't want to pay for a parking permit. Anyways... I was going down the hill by the Majors house and I drove past a little girl (about 11 years old) walking up the hill, in shorts! I was taken back, shocked. I didn't really know what to think so as I drove past her I slowed down just in case she gave off any sign that she needed help. I passed her and another car was going up the hill and also passed her, I looked in the rear-view mirror and saw her kind of give a little "help me" wave. I turned around and headed back toward her. She was walking up the side of the road that doesn't have a sidewalk (the left side) and I pulled up on the right side, rolled down my window and asked if she needed help, or if she was going to Lakeridge and if she wanted a ride, of course she said yes. She was wearing shorts and a little windbreaker jacket type thing, her lips were extremely chapped and her skin was bright red from the cold. I would have said yes too. Before she got in the car I told her she shouldn't normally get in the car with strangers. (This world isn't very safe anymore, and it sucks). She got in and I asked her why she was walking to school, she told me her mom was making her walk. I asked her why she was wearing shorts then, and she told me it was because she didn't have any pants. I didn't really know what to say. As I took her to Lakeridge she told me that she lived across the street from the church and that her dad was in Iraq. I told her that I used to play nightgames at that church and she told me that she still does (in the spring and summer) and her mom lets her go play night games to "get her out of her hair". We got to Lakeridge and I dropped her off in front. I asked her if that was alright and she said she had to call her mom as soon as she got to school so it was good to be in the front. I was still in shock that the girl was wearing shorts and walking in the freezing cold weather this morning. I wasn't really sure if I should call someone or who to even call. I decided to call my mom and tell her the story. The girl had told me where she lived and I asked my mom if she knew anyone who lived there. She told me she thought it was the house that has foster children but she wasn't sure. I also told the story to Tanner and he said I should have gone inside Lakeridge and told them what happened, and maybe I still should... I'm not really sure. I just thought it was crazy. Some of the things she said and again, being outside in that cold of weather, IN SHORTS!!!!! How could any mother do that, and not drive your kid. I understand that she may not have been able to take her to school, and she may not be able to afford pants, but there are ways to take care of your children without that much money. I just kind of needed to share this story.

Black Friday.

We drove past Best Buy in Orem and there were tents and cars parked right in front of the store as if they were in the line. It was ridiculous. We changed our minds and decided to go home to sleep and go in the morning to see if they had anything good. We woke up at around 8 and went over to Best Buy. They were completely out of the cheap laptops and desktops. We found a digital camera that was 7.1 megapixels with a 12x optical zoom, not digital, OPTICAL! It was only 189.99 and they had quite a few left. We called Tanner and told him they still had them and we would hold onto it until he got there. So I guess there was a reason we went. Haha. It was still fun. Jason went and played basketball with cousin Davey, and Tan Tan... So I had about two hours to go to Target to see if they had some movies my mom wanted. While I was there I found that they still had ClearPlay dvd players and they were one sale! Ours had just stopped working about a week ago. What I mean is, when we would put a dvd in the player it wouldn't recognize that there was a dvd in it. It was very annoying. We tried cleaning it but it wouldn't recognize the cleaning dvd in it. Long story short I bought the new clearplay dvd player. It is very nice. It works better than the old one. It's smaller and it lights up a really cool blue color when you turn it on.

Thanksgiving weekend...

This Thanksgiving... We ate dinner at the Jaynes, we were asked to bring rolls, and if I had the time we were to bring a chocolate pie. We got a ride with my family and played some games before dinner. Jason and I had gone to the Thanksgiving morning sale at K-mart. We were going to see if they had any wii's and they gave out vouchers at four in the morning! We got there at six because the store was supposed to open at seven. Anyways... Long story short, they were out of wii vouchers when we got there so we decided to stay in line and get some of the board games that they had buy one get one free. We got Clue, Monopoly, Scrabble, and Candy Land. So we brought them with us to the Jaynes. Dinner was great. The potatoes were amazing, the Turkey was actually pretty moist, and so many rolls!!!! After dinner we played some more games took naps, and then had dessert. There were so many pies, there had to be about 10 of them. After we had eaten pie and played scrabble (Jason, aunt Elaine, and I) the David Howell family came over and their children. We sat and talked and talked. We talked pretty much about everything. We drove back to Orem to pick up the car and go home to Provo. We had been planning on going to the black Friday sale in the morning so we decided to check and see how long the line for best buy was. (We were going to wait in line all night to get a laptop for 399 and also a desktop for 199). (more in next post)

Oh the Joys of Baking.

I have been meaning to make bread for a while now and I finally got the opportunity to make some today. I didn't have school this morning and I didn't have work until 1. (Leisy, are you still looking for a bread recipe? Because I am going to post this one just in case.) This recipe is from the Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book.
Whole Wheat Bread:
3 to 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 pkg of active dry yeast
1 3/4 cups water
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons butter, margarine, or shorting
1 1/4 teaspoons of salt
2 cups whole wheat flour

1. In a large mixing bowl combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and the yeast; set aside. In a medium size saucepan heat and stir water, brown sugar, butter and salt just until warm (120-130 degrees F) and butter almost melts. Add water mixture to flour mixture. Beat with an electric mixer on low to medium speed for 30 seconds, scraping sides of bowl constantly. Beat on high speed for 3 minutes. Using a wooden spoon, stir in whole wheat flour and as much of the remaining all-purpose flour as you can.
2. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead in enough of the remaining all purpose flour to make a moderately stiff dough that is smooth and elastic (6 to 8 minutes total). Shape dough into a ball. Place in a lightly greased bowl, turning once to grease surface of dough. Cover; let rise in a warm place until double in size (1 to 1 1/2 hours).
3. Punch dough down (punch down the dough by pushing your fist into its center, then using your fingers to pull the dough edges to the center). Turn out onto a lightly floured surface; divide in half. Cover; let rest 10 minutes. Meanwhile, lightly grease two 8x4x2in pans.
4. Shape dough halves into loaves by patting or rolling. To shape by patting, gently pat and pinch, tucking edges underneath. To shape by rolling, on a lightly floured surface roll each dough half into a 12x8 in rectangle. Roll up each rectangle, starting from a short side. Seal seams with your fingertips. ( When shaping it with the rolling technique, I like to put a little honey on it while it is flat and then roll the honey in)
5. Place shaped dough halves in pans. Cover, let rise in a warm place until nearly double in size (30-45 minutes)
6. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 35-40 minutes or until bread sounds hollow when lightly tapped (if necessary, cover loosely with foil the last 10 minutes to prevent overbrowning). Immediately remove bread from pans. Cool on wire racks.

Movies

Last night we went and borrowed Ratatouille, and Meet the Robinsons from my mom, and we also went and bought Oceans 13. We then came home and watched all three of them. We had seen Oceans 13 before but not the other two. We watched Ratatouille first and loved it! It is probably one of the funniest Disney movies I've seen in a while. It was very original and great for anyone. The only thing I found fishy about the movie is that the two main characters didn't have French accents, yes they could be from other places, but, at least for the Rat, he is probably from England or somewhere over in Europe so he should have some kind of European accent... After that we watched Meet the Robinsons, which was also pretty darn good, although pretty predictable. It was a very cute movie with a good moral. Then of course we watched Oceans 13, too bad I fell asleep but I do like that movie.
Also, we went and saw Beowulf on Friday... I don't know if I would recommend it to anyone. It was pretty interesting. We saw it in 3-d which made it really cool. Other than that, the movie was pretty predictable. I looked on yahoo to see what other people though of the movie and users said that the movie was not like the poem, and if you wanted to know the real version of the story then read the poem. I did just that. They veered from the poem. I am disturbed that our society is so disgusting these days and perverted that they would change the story just so they could put a pretty much naked Angelina Jolie in the movie. The woman isn't even supposed to be beautiful. Other than the Angelina parts, and how Beowulf is married and has a mistress that his wife, the queen, knows about. Other than that the movie was pretty entertaining. At least it was better than that HORRIBLE movie Rush Hour 3. (my advice, don't waste your time or money watching it.)

Tagged

Wow, I just got tagged. So... I guess it's time for me to figure out some little known facts about me... Well this certainly is harder than it looks.
1. I love learning about new things. I really mean it, the only thing I don't like is actually doing homework. I guess I just don't like being told I have to do something, or I'll fail. Sometimes I wish teachers would give a description of what they wanted us to learn out of the class and then say there were a certain amount of assignments and you could pick a way that you wanted to express your understanding or knowledge of a subject.
2. I like going to bed early. I enjoy being in bed by 10, even though it doesn't always happen that way. I love being able to go to bed early and be able to wake up at a decent time and feel refreshed. I like to get at least 8 hours of sleep because your body actually needs it! You can't really make up sleep, and you can't really understand anything completely if you are half asleep.
3.I just barely decided upon a major. It has taken me a long time and I have finally picked one. I am going to major in English and I plan to be done sometime in 09... Hopefully. I previously wanted to go into; psychology/nutrition working especially with eating disorder patients, a computer programmer, and also thought about being a nurse.
4. I love riding in the car. I do enjoy driving, but not as much as going on car rides.
5. I am taking a womens self defense class this semester... The first half of the semester we didn't really do much, the teacher didn't come half of the time and when he would show up he would come in 15-30 minutes late... We now have a new teacher and he is always on time and we practiced so hard on last Thursday, kicking, that my legs were sore until the next class the following Tuesday.
6. I love baking. I love sugar. One of my favorite things to do is to just bake something from scratch... Chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, bread, rolls, cake, and a lot of other things. I'm a very picky eater when it comes to my sweets. If the recipe calls for some sort of nuts I'll keep them out. If it calls for something like coconut, I'll keep it out. We got a few cook books for our wedding and then Jason had this huge cook book from before it has 1000+ pages. Apparently it is the book culinary arts schools use as their text book. It has the most complex recipes in it and it gives tons of tips and directions on how to make things. The only problem is that the sweets recipes make a lot of food. Some recipes make 6 or 7 cakes.

Family video

A few weeks ago I started to upload some old family videos onto the laptop to edit them and use my birthday gift. I stumbled upon this clip from a family vacation to McCaul, ID (I don't know how to spell the city) We went up there sometime in October in either 2003 or 2004. (I'll update later when I know for sure) I just love this clip. It was such a fun family vacation. Everyone was so young. Tanner is pre-miss, I think it shows how much he changed on his mission. That cabin is the David Howell family cabin, I'm not sure if they named it or not. Anyways, I am going to get back to studying and then actually editing that little family video.

OPPO

We have this big tv and a ton of movies. We have a clearplay dvd player that edits any movie we want it to.. as long as they have a filter for it. We can change the levels of editing, so it will take out all the yucky stuff. So we love that dvd player, but the picture quality and the sound quality just isn't that wonderful. For our regular dvd's we use our x-box to watch them so we don't wear out our clearplay dvd player and the picture is about the same, the main difference is that we can't fast forward with the x-box, we have to either skip the whole scene or just watch until we get to the part we want. The other day Jason was online looking for a new Dvd player. At first he just wanted an x-box 360 elite because it upconverts dvds to HDMI, which is almost HD quality. Then he changed his mind, and kept looking. We didn't want to get an HD-dvd player because they are so expensive, and we would have to go out and get all new movies just in order to watch them in HD, for that same reason we didn't get a Blueray player. In addition to buying the player and new movies, we don't know which player is going to win the battle, so we didn't want to invest in something that is going to become obsolete. So Jason did some research, and we both read a lot of reviews from people who had bought players with HDMI, and decided to get the OPPO. We ordered it last Saturday night and it got to us by Wednesday afternoon!! I got home from work and Jason had already set it up and was watching Transformers, it was AMAZING. The quality of the picture was just soo good I really couldn't believe it. It was almost sad because when we want to watch our movies that need to be edited with our clearplay the picture quality is drastically lowered.

October 6...

October 6. My 20th birthday. We had gone to bed the night before at one in the morning and then had to get up at 6:30 to get ready for our Saturday up in Salt Lake for general conference. We started out the day by going to Ernies for breakfast, and then we headed up to Salt Lake. As soon as we got there we headed straight for the conference center. Conference was really good. We went shopping a little bit and then out to eat. We went to Chili's and opened gifts. Jason's aunt got me a jacket to match the pants I had bought the night before. The next gift was from Jasons mom, two shirts, and then Final Cut Express HD. I was completely shocked, in the good way. I used it in high school in my video editing class and I loved it, I would go into the class during lunch to work on my movies, that's how much I loved it. I was so excited to get it. Then Jason gave me the gift from him, it was in a gift bag like the rest of the gifts. I opened it up and inside was a movie (mini-series) called "The Tenth Kingdom" and then Jason asked me to read the back of it to everyone and as I turned it over I realized there was something in the back of the movie in between the plastic and the movie. Two Celine Dion tickets for December 8th. A week before her last showing ever. I was in such shock!!! I was so excited! Jason and I had been looking for tickets for a few months. They were sold out on the Celine Dion website and on ebay the tickets were up to 700 dollars for two tickets. I told Jason I didn't need to go that bad and we could save the money for something else. I guess he got the tickets for cheaper than that but I was still shocked. I called my mom and told her and she told me not to tell Janna, because she would be so mad that i got to go and she didn't she would probably kill me. Haha. Well, we left Salt Lake at around 9 and went to my mom's house (she had called and told us to come over for cake) We went over again on Sunday and had a little family get together and my family gave me some really cute shirts and really cute jewelry, and some food storage. It was amazing.
Overall it was a pretty good birthday.

Shirts and Makeup

A few weeks ago we had a family get-together at the Oswald's house and I started to tell the girls about this website that I got some cute shirts for only 10 dollars each. I found them on a website and wasn't sure if it would be safe to buy them, but I took a chance and it worked. It was great and I decided to tell everyone about it. It's called Junior Trends ( Juniortrends.com ) Most of the shirts are trashy but there are some that are really cute, and really well priced. After I told them about that website Laney told us about a different website that sells makeup for only $1.00 it's amazing! I went on the website to check it out. It seemed too good to be true... We'll see though, I ordered a few things about a week ago and hopefully they will get here soon and I can tell you about it and let you know if any of it is good... Hopefully it's good stuff. Although the makeup is cheap the shipping costs are fairly expensive... compared to the price of the makeup.

Chadders, the wannabe In N' Out!

Monday night was so much fun. We all (the family) got together at the Oswalds house and had dinner because Robert and Laura were in town with their children. They are so CUTE. I got off work at 6 so we were going to be a little late anyways, but then Davey called and asked if we could pick him up at BYU, and then we had to go get Kate, Penny, and Tanner. We got on the freeway at about 6:30 and the freeway was FREAKING PACKED. So we got off the freeway and took Geneva, then state. We were about there and then we saw a fast food joint called Chadders it looked just like in n' out. Seriously, we went to the Oswalds and had such a good time. Jason had to do some studying so he was studying most of the time, although he did socialize for a bit of the time. When we were finished with family shindig, we decided to stop by the new restaurant called Chadders. It was almost exactly like In n' out.

Customers Forming Long Lines at New Restaurant

A brand new fast-food restaurant in American Fork is getting a lot of attention. At times, the drive-through line is 20 cars long. Some new restaurants wait years to pack people in. Chadders, in American Fork, waited a week.

Jared Dalton, an American Fork resident, said, "I like it. I think it's really good and I like the French fries and stuff."

Linda Wandvik says, "I think it's just the fresh food and the quickness of it, and the customer service is really good."

They're all things a brand new restaurant would love to hear, but Chadders is a fast food joint, selling only burgers, fries, shakes and drinks.

So how could a fast food hamburger place, which didn't even advertise, be so packed, it draws people in who just want to see why it's so packed?

The attraction is in the building, the menu, the colors, even the food; it's all very similar to those who've been to Las Vegas, Arizona or California.

"Actually, I'm from California, and it reminds me of In-n-Out Burger. I always loved In-n-Out Burger, so as soon as they opened up, we had to come and try it," Linda Wandvik says.

Maurine Henry said, "To me it seems like a wannabe In-n-Out, but I don't know."

Darren Vandecar said, "They have a menu very similar to In-n-Out Burger's, so I think the fact they're so busy must be that people see it as a similar experience to In-n-Out Burger."

Just whatever you do, don't call this Chadders restaurant an In-n-Out Burger franchise. People here say it's very similar. Management wouldn't go on camera with us, but they say they have nothing to do with the popular hamburger chain. However, rumor around town is that the guy who runs this place, used to have something to do with In-n-Out Burger.

Even if it's not exactly the same, people who love In-n-Out Burgers are just fine going in and out of Chadders.

We spoke with an In-n-Out burger representative in California. She told us her company does not have any franchises in Utah.



I honestly think that this is a wannabe and it bothers me that they deny it being a wannabe, but it's still pretty good. I do recommend it.

Money Money Money, Lots of Money, it's a rich man's world.

Life has been a little bit more busy than normal. I have been looking for a job ever since we got here from Montana. I feel like I am a burden if I don't earn any money and use all of Jason's stipends for our needs. So I have been looking for something part time that pays decent. About a week ago cousin Davey called Jason and told him about a job I should apply for. Davey's bishop is a neurologist and works in a clinic right next to the Utah Valley Hospital and he needed a secretary. I sent Davey my resume through email and Davey sent it to his bishop and two days later I got a call from the manager of the office asking me to come in for an interview. I went in on Friday, it was really weird, they had me come in an hour early to fill out a questionare about myslef, it was like an interview on paper, and then I had the real interview. It only took 10 minutes and the woman said they didn't usually hire people on the spot but I came highly recommended by Davey's bishop, (whom I have never met). So I now have a job and I start on Monday! The hours are from 1-6 (I think it's Monday-Friday) and I don't work on any national holiday!!!!! On top of that, New Years Eve and Christmas Eve are HALF DAYS!!! I am pretty excited about that because at the Brick Oven I had to work almost every holiday except for Christmas and any holiday that lands on a Sunday. So I am very excited.

WalMart Jesus

I'm sure you've all seen the Christus statues at deseret book for about 300 dollars, if you haven't here is a link. http://deseretbook.com/store/search?search=christus&x=0&y=0 Well, we were at Walmart grocery shopping (our first time grocery shopping for A LOT of food.) Jason disappeared for a few minutes and then showed up with two boxes. One had a picture of the Salt Lake Temple, and the second had a picture of the Christus. They were each only 15 dollars so we got them. Some of Jasons old roommates came over to watch a movie one night and they saw our christus statue and Jason told them we got it at walmart. It looked like they didn't believe him for a little while. Ever since we got that statue, every time we go to walmart Jason insists we go over to where he found it and see if there is another one, and each time we see that there isn't one there he swears that we got the last one ever!!! Anyways... Here is a picture of our "last Christus EVER!!!" from walmart for only 15 dollars.

Updated "How Clean is Your House"

I have been online for days looking for seasons of "How Clean is Your House" to buy. I couldn't find it anywhere. It was ridiculous. I found some books with the same title, by one of the women in the show but nothing about seasons of the show. Jason even looked for me. They don't even sell seasons of it in the UK! I was outraged! Jason finally found a way for me to watch it down here. YOUTUBE!!! I had forgotten how amazing that thing is! You go to youtube.com and search for "how clean is your house" the person who put them on youtube has each episode split into three segments, so you have to make sure you are watching the same episode, usually they have the title of the episode and then 1,2, or 3 to tell you what part of the episode you are watching. So if anyone wants to check it out... There you go. Just remember it's pretty gross sometimes, but it's soooo good.

New Apartment

I has been a little while since I have been constant in my posting, so I am going to try harder. We have our apartment set up... It's kind of messy right now, Jason is unpacking a box that we stuffed in the closet because we didn't want to do anything with it until now, and I am scrapbooking... Oh, and we are watching stuff about college football on the mtn.

When we first walked in the dishwasher was in the living room, the fridge was pulled out, and the oven was outside! We were like, "are you sure this is supposed to be it?" So we went back to the office and the woman said that they were putting in new carpet and linolium in the kitchen and they should be done in a few hours. Since we decided to move in a day early we were ok that everything wasn't put together yet, we were still waiting on all of our things Jason's parents were going to bring down from Montana. We went and ran a few errands and then came back and everything was back together but the carpet had little bits of carpet pieces all over, and we decided to clean it up to our liking. We had been cleaning for about half an hour (maybe less, maybe more) and we heard a key in the lock and then someone tried to open the door (we had the door already unlocked so he had just locked it) he tried it again, walked in, saw us and was like, "They said you weren't moving in until tomorrow." He introduced himself as the repairman and he had a really neat accent (we think it was russian or something like it.) We told him it was fine and he was just going to fix a few things, so we cleaned while he fixed things, then we all left. Jason and I came back the next day and finished cleaning until his parents came with our stuff, then we unpacked. We literally just took the things out of the trailer and put them in our living room. We set up our bed and tv and then we all went out to eat, (My mom, Janna, Kate, Penny, Jason, Me, Denny, and Rita.) We went to Sizzler and I didn't think I would like it, but it was pretty good. By the time we finished eating It was about 10:00 PM so we went home to put things away. Cousin Davey came over and put our vacuum together and chatted for a while. He left and we went to sleep.

We realized our couches were hideous!!! I'm not joking, a checkered blue, green, and white. We just didn't like them. We went to a few different stores looking for couch covers and they were $80.00 + it was ridiculous, we decided to look at wal mart and if they didn't have any then I would just have to make them myself. We found one for $20.00 but the color didn't match anything in the room, so we pulled it out to see what it looked like, and it was just a blanket!!! We thought it was a waste of money so we put it back and bought 1 dollar a yard fabric and I made couch covers. I even made some pillows to match.

We unpacked all of our kitchen appliances and dishes and put them in the cupboards and realized that there wasn't going to be any room for any food in the cupboards. We had to be creative and get one of those plastic drawers (kind of like a rubbermaid dresser) and we put the food in that. Anyways... This is what the couch looked like before, you can also see things being set up. Here are some more pictures...

Transition

Wow it has been a while since I have posted. Well, we have moved back to good old Utah. It's nice to be back but it was sad to leave Montana. I really liked it there. I even liked living with my in-laws, some of you are shocked but apparently you don't know my in-laws. (I really don't like the term "in-law" it just reminds me of all the tv shows where everyone complains about their in-laws so I'm just going to say Jason's parents) Living up in Montana was great. I didn't work, which was really weird for me at first, and then I got used to it again. I enjoyed being able to do what I wanted with my time. I loved not having to shower in the morning and then shower again when I got home from work because I smelled like a gross concoction of food. Not only that, but I got to know Jason's parents better and I am so glad. There is no way I could have picked better parent's for my husband. Anyways...

Right now we don't have the internet so we have to go to my parents house to get online. We are supposed to get the internet tomorrow so hopefully I can post pictures of our apartment!!! I will also tell you the story of the first time we saw the actual thing.

Sweetgrass!

Montana is a pretty nice state to live in. Not just because there are a lot of trees and a ton of Casinos!!! I'm not joking the Casinos here are like the Churches in Utah. They are on just about every corner. Although I'm too young to gamble, the majority of the Casinos are part restaurants too so we went and ate at a few of them. I was very skeptical of how the food would taste at first, but I gave it a try, and they were actually pretty good. I found that Montana has a lot of good restaurants. We went to a lot of different places. They have a pretty good asian restaurant, a mexican restaurant (that Jason LOVES), a few good pizza places, and an AMAZING sandwich place called Sweetgrass. It really is quite amazing! I probably never would have noticed the place on my own. It's like in Harry Potter, where only the people who know about it can see it. The inside isn't spectacular or decorated very nicely, but the sandwiches are just really good. They are also really BIG. Here are some pictures of my beloved sweetgrass.

Oh Target!

Today I went to the wonderful world of Target. I really mean it, target is amazing. I went there to look around to get ideas of what things Jason and I are going to need for our apartment when we get back to Utah. As I was looking I found myself in the shoe section, so I figured I'd take a look, see if there were any good sales, and there were! I found a pair of really cute red flats for only 3 dollars!!!! The only problem was that they were a size 7, and I'm a 7 1/2. So I kept looking and I found the same exact shoe but in a cream color and in my size! For 3 dollars I would be an idiot not to get them. I continued my search for things that we would need and I realized we would need cleaning supplies, so I went off to the cleaing supplies aisle, and made a list of things that we needed to buy when we got to our apartment.
Once I was done with my list I walked past the scrapbook aisle to see if there was anything on sale that I "needed." I found some letter stamps that I can use over and over, and some paint to use with the stamps. All on sale!

MY BOOKS CAME IN THE MAIL!!!!!!! About two weeks ago I found this website called bookcloseouts.com and it has books for super cheap!!! So I bought three books, the total including shipping and handling was twelve dollars!!! I was on that website for about a week, looking at books and finding ones I thought looked good. I guess I'm just so excited that my books came, it's really great. Maybe it's because I love getting things in the mail, and I love books.

Scrapbooking...

While we have been here I have been "documenting" our wedding pictures... Aka: scrapbooking. Since I don't have a job up here I figured it would be a wonderful thing to do, it would give me something to do, enhance my creativity, and put all of our pictures together. I have also decided to put all of the cards we have gotten and put them in a scrap book. As of right now, I have completed 3 1/2 books. I have finished two full scrapbooks full of pictures and 1 1/2 books full of wedding cards.

My husband now calls it what I used to call it, S-CRAP-booking. I used to hate scrapbooking. I thought it was a waste of time, I didn't see what the big deal was. A few years passed and I stopped hating it, I didn't really have a stand on it anymore. So when my friend Holly told me she would help me make a scrap book for people to sign instead of a regular signing book for my reception, so I took her up on that offer. She took me to a few stores and showed me how to use some scrapbooking tools. I still didn't really care about scrap booking until she introduced me to the eyelet scrapbooking tool kit. It's this little kit with a hammer and other tools, and it is essentially a really neat holepunch. I loved it so much that after I got married I bought one of my own. I now have a little box that holds all of my scrapbooking things (except paper.) I'm really quite glad I got into scrapbooking. If I hadn't gotten into scrapbooking I would probably still have all of my pictures just sitting on the computer.

How Clean Is Your House?

I have just discovered the best show on television. It's called "How Clean is your House?" It's on BBC America. These two ladies show you how to clean your house and make fun of you while doing it. They also take samples from your house, and tell you what kind of "nasties" are growing. When they are finished teaching the person how to clean they kick you out and finish cleaning it. Then they sprinkle their special white powder to make sure that you are cleaning.
Honestly, they go into the dirtiest houses, it's really quite disgusting. My mother and aunt Annie would probably be as disgusted as these two women. It's really quite an amazing show. They teach you how to clean your house using special tricks, like putting vinegar onto animal urine to get rid of the smell.
Watching this show just makes me want to clean. I just want to start vacuuming, and disinfecting. We are staying at Jasons parents right now and there really isn't much to clean, except our room, and even that isn't dirty or messy. So I have this urge to clean and nothing to clean. I guess I could go wash the car if I really want to.
The episode that I am watching now is about a man who lives in Scotland and has two dogs. There is dog hair everywhere! I mean EVERYWHERE!!! It's quite nasty! This man has cleaned his house maybe once in 9 years!!!!! I really think I'm addicted to this show.

Kind of a journal entry...

This morning we woke up planning on going to the 8:10 session at the temple, as it so often happens, we were running a little bit late, but we would have still made it but we got stuck behind two extremely slow trucks and no passing lanes. By the time we pulled in front of the temple it was exactly 8:09. We got pretty frustrated and tried to figure out what would be open at 8 in the morning in Billings, Montana... apparently, not very much. We ended up going to ihop and having breakfast, and then back to the temple. It was great, after going through I just felt so good. I had forgotten about all of my problems and stresses, and felt so amazing, even though I had been upset about not making the first session. I also think things happen for a reason, (which is why I wasn't too horribly upset about being late.) I think that since we were late for the first session there had to be a reason, such as we were supposed to be at a different session. Sometimes the reasons aren't significant enough for us to recognize them, and sometimes we just feel like we know the reason why some things happen. Anyways...

So I guess you could say I'm bored, or you could say... I don't know what else you could say, I'm pretty bored. I've been watching Law and Order since seven. I guess it's not that long. The second episode is one Jason and I have been wanting to watch for a few weeks. We saw the beginning of it and then had to go somewhere, and extremely fortunately for us it was on again tonight. As we were watching it Jason reminded me that he had ordered pictures from wal*mart online and they were supposed to be ready by 8:50, and the photo department closes at 9, which is also the time that our law and order was supposed to get over. We had a problem... I was thinking about what we could do so we could watch the show and also get the pictures. I thought we could download the Law and Order episode from itunes, so I looked it up but they didn't have it. Jasons parents were out at a store so we called them to see if they were anywhere near wal*mart, but they weren't. I asked Jason if he could wait until Monday to get them and he said he really wanted them. So I did the only other thing I could think of, I left the show and went to get his pictures so he could stay and finish the show. I seriously hope I can find a way to download it or get the show somehow because that was the second time I had to leave before it was over.

On a side note, when I got to wal*mart to pick up the photo's a yellow school bus pulled up in front of the store and about 20-25 men climbed out, they were all wearing either bright yellow or a dark colored shirt, it was pretty creepy.

The Start

This is the home of Jason and Shannon Langager.... Well, at least our new online home. Well... We got married on June 26, 2007 in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. Now we are up in Montana for the summer. We are going back to Utah on the 20th of August.
