Saturday fun
We had quite an adventure today. It was Jason's day off and he agreed to go down to the Renaissance festival. I had read that it got great reviews for families, and even won an award for being family friendly. After Evie's nap we drove down to Larkspur and had us some renaissance fun...
Right before our little rideStrawberry ice. Sooo good!
Sword swallower
Jason was helping evie pet the animals. (They have a petting zoo area for the kids)
Trying to grab the rooster.
We bought a cup of pellets to feed the animals. Evie loved these sheep. She was teasing two of the sheep and it was really funny!
Petting the horse.
Amazing fire-breather!

Hmm which should I get...
Trying to decide if I want to buy this
in lieu of this.
Or should I even get either?
Prices:
travel smart: $29 with free shipping
gogo kidz: $71, or $50 ish on ebay...
The travel smart doesn't have nearly as many reviews as the gogo, but the reviews it does have are great. The word "sturdy" was commonly used in the reviews, and look how compact it folds up! No negative reviews being used as a car seat carrier (although there were only 3 or 4 reviewers that used it as such). The negative is that it might not work for my car seat (although it probably will), and that there are so few reviews...
The gogo has a bunch of excellent reviews, it also has quite a few bad reviews, including the wheels popping off and if you look at it, there isn't a base for the carseat to sit on, so there is the possibility of your car seat dragging. Out of 367 reviews it got 5 stars from 214, 4 stars from 91, 3 stars from 18, 2 stars from 18, and 1 star from 28. Overall it seems pretty good, unless I get a faulty one or my car seat isn't compatible.
I'm still not sure if I should even get one, but if I do, I think I'll go for the travel smart luggage carrier. Like Alton Brown, I'm a fan of multi-taskers.

Party...
Ok, here it is. When I was a bit younger I wanted to be a stewardess (aka flight attendant, if you want to be pc). When I was working at the Brick Oven and would close, I would pull the cart out and pretend to be passing out drinks. (Yes, I am a bit crazy).
When Pan Am came on the air I watched it every week. I LOVED IT! I was extremely disappointed when it was put on hiatus for the stupid GCB (I did watch one episode, I had to give it a chance because I am a HUGE fan of Kristen Chenoweth, and it wasn't good)! Unfortunately the show was cancelled! GAHH! I loved my flight/spy fix, and now it's gone. :( I have missed it.
I was looking at pinterest tonight and was lured into a pin about parties for adults. The picture I saw was for an outdoor old movie party. I love this idea, and when we actually have a decent backyard, I will do this. Anyways, back to the point... The link took me to a list of party ideas, with a fantastic (emphasis on fantastic!) idea.
(Click on the picture to take you to Lynlee's petite cakes' post about the party and what she did).
I'm awestruck. Seriously AMAZING! I want to have a party exactly like it (I couldn't pull it off, but a girl can dream)!

Splash park
We went to the splash park today! We were very lucky that our friends were still there by the time Evie woke up from her nap and we got ready.
We had so much fun! Evie loves being outside and playing with people. She's so social. At the splash park she went up to very kind people and trying to talk to them. She went up to a little girl and sat down next to her and started chatting. She's so sweet.
She loved the water! She was hesitant about the water coming down, but after a while she started walking through it.

The water in this picture fluctuates in height. Evie went over and stood over it when the water wasn't shooting out, and when the water would come out, she would run back to me.

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee
We had thought about doing a tea party in "celebraton" of the Queen's diamond jubilee, but two out of the three mommy-daughter's were out of town. :(
Evie and I had cucumber sandwiches for lunch on Friday, they turned out pretty good.
This morning we decided to have scones for breakfast. I found a recipe online and instead of using raisins we used chocolate chips.

Here's Evie waiting for the scones.

Yum! (except the bottoms were a little burnt, while the tops were perfect)

Evie ate quite a few, as did I (after cutting off the burnt bottoms).

Watching the Thames diamond jubilee pageant. (Pretty much a river parade. Jason commented on how the boats should be decorated like Harry potter and Lord of the Rings) haha! That would have been fun. It's been interesting watching the boat parade, but I am really glad parades here -like the independence day parade- are more entertaining.
