Oh my goodness! Last night at about 8:30 we went to wait in line to see the new Batman movie. All of the waiting certainly payed off. The new batman movie is better than the first! Don't get me wrong, Batman Begins is incredible! It's a movie I could watch twice in the same week. The new Batman movie is even better than that.
I will be honest, I have never been a huge fan of Heath Ledger. Yes, I liked the movies he was in, but no I did not watch them just to see him. That being said, Heath was incredible! He portrayed the Joker so amazingly well! I hated the joker but knew that the acting behind him was superb!
Christian Bale is the PERFECT Batman! There is nothing else I need to say about that.
Michael Caine is also the perfect Alfred, same goes for Aaron Eckhart playing Harvy Dent.
There are two things I didn't LOVE about this movie. 1: They changed Katie Holmes to Maggie Gyllenhall (I don't think either of them are the best at acting, but switching a actor in the second movie is just annoying). 2: The way they wrote the Rachel character to be someone you didn't like. That's my opinion. I really didn't like the character since the first movie. Other than that, the movie was PHENOMENAL!!!!

Tribute to Dave!

Jason and I made philly steak and cheese sandwiches. SOOOOO Good! Jason started off by cutting ribeye steak into thin pieces and cooking them. We put provolone cheese on the rolls then put them in the oven to become deliciously toasty. When they were perfectly toasted we pulled them out of the oven and assembled them. They were delicious! Jason says we were thinking about Dave while we ate them, and it was quite a tribute!

JUNE 26, 2008

(I started writing this on JUNE 26) Today it has been exactly one year since we have been married. In other words, today is our 1 year anniversary. The morning started out with Jason sneaking out of the house and coming back with roses! I then made him a delicious breakfast, and we watched the simpsons. (hehe) We went to the store to buy me a book for school and then went to Lehi to get some food.
For those of you who don't know, Jason served his mission in California. He has been talking about this place called el pollo loco, and how amazing it was, for as long as I can remember. Conveniently an El Pollo Loco opened in Lehi TODAY! We drove up there and went inside... Not such a good idea! There were people everywhere inside! There was not an open seat and there were people standing around just waiting. The line was to the door (the farthest door) and people waiting in another for the food to be ready. We waited about 20 minutes in the line to order our food. We were fine waiting. We ordered our food and waited. People behind us in line went through and about twenty minutes later (at the most) they had their food and we were still waiting. We waited and waited. 45 minutes later our food was finally ready! Jason and I were so upset. Not because we had to wait, we would have been fine if everyone had to wait as long as we did, but people who ordered after us got their food before us. It was really upsetting! The food was amazing! We will go back, but not for at least a month. We have learned our lesson, when we go back, we will go through the drive-thru.
We went home pulled the top of our cake out of the freezer and watched the NBA draft.

Graduation & memories

The past week has filled my mind with a ton of memories. Janna graduated from high school and I was filled with memories of my own graduation. The actual graduation, the senior all night party, the friends and family. During my senior year in high school I was working at the Brick Oven, saving all of the money I earned so that we (my sisters, my mom, and I) could afford to go to South Africa to pick up Tanner (my brother) from his mission. I remember not being able to tell my siblings that we would be going, and I remember finally breaking the wonderful news to them on Christmas morning. I remember the Eiffel tower, the Metro, the Louvre, and Kate and I spending the night in Paris while Janna, Penny, and my mom flew to South Africa. I remember all of the houses in South Africa (each about the size of a shed), the many faces of people Tanner taught, and the game park. I remember going to London with Tanner, Janna, Kate, Penny, and my mom; The London Bridge, the Tower of London, Buckingham palace, Big Ben, and the Underground. I remember thinking about how amazing it was to have been to those places, I had spent a lot of time in the past dreaming of going to those places. Reading books about them and when we actually went I realized that no matter how good those books were, words simply could not describe the feeling of being there. I completely agree with the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words," but even then, I don't think any words can really describe the memories of something. Which brings me to another memory that came to me last week. At the end of April last year Janna and I had gotten to go to Hawaii. It was amazing, and since I can't think of any better words than amazing right now I will post some pictures of that memory.

The weekend

Last week was quite uneventful, until Friday that is. After my English class I decided to check my voicemail because the voicemail symbol on my phone was starting to bug me. After listening to a message from my little sister inviting me to her school carnival there was one from my neighbor who lives above us. She is in the first relief society in our ward and I am in the second one. In the message she explained to me that a girl in her relief society (who Jason also happens to home teach) has been sick (they thought her appendix had burst) and on bed rest, and also pregnant. She asked if we could make dinner for her and her husband but as I called the girl upstairs back she had already gotten the nights covered. She told me I should call and talk with her because she was stuck at home and really bored. I ended up taking her lunch and spending the afternoon hanging out and chatting with her while her husband was at work. Her doctor ended up calling and telling her she needed to go to get some more tests done. I ended up taking her to the doctor's and her husband met her there.

The next day one of the girls I visit teach was moving out and needed help cleaning out their apartment so I went over to help clean. Their apartment wasn't too big so I didn't think it would be too bad, but I was the only one who showed up! I really thought there would be more people there. I got there at about 12:30 and didn't leave until about 4:00. I spent most of the time cleaning the bathroom. It wasn't really dirty, but there was a lot of built up soap scum. There wasn't a bathtub it was just a shower and tile everywhere. (That's what took me so long). I imagine I felt like Tanner did when he cleaned out his shower in his new apartment.
After the cleaning Jason and I went up to Park City to the Tanger Outlets and bought some clothes. While we were in one of the stores I got a phone call from a member of the bishopbric asking me to come in for an interview the next morning. Jason and I are ward librarians and then I just got called to the relief society compassionate service committee.

Indiana Jones

Last night Jason, my mother, Janna, Penny, Tanner, and I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. A few weeks ago Jason and I were watching SNL and Shia La Bouf (however you spell his name) was on the show kind of promoting the new movie. At the beginning of the show when he walked on stage they had a skit where some of the SNL actors stood in the audience and asked Shia questions about the new movie. One of the characters tried to guess the plot of the movie because it had been so hush hush. The guy came up with the craziest plot and weirdest idea I couldn't help but laugh. Then Shia does some sort of a "I can't believe you guessed it" look. After seeing the movie, I have to hand it to them. They got it pretty darn close (from what I can remember).
Anyways... The movie was pretty good, I thought it was pretty cheesy, but still good. It was Indiana Jones. The special effects were very good. It sort of surprised me that it was so graphic and then I remembered what the older movies are like and how graphic they were. Overall the movie was pretty good and we really enjoyed it.

Missing cousin Davey...

I was just looking through the photo's on my computer and I noticed this one.
It's of cousin Davey, me, and Tan. We were all pretending to be pregnant. I don't remember exactly why, but it was extremely fun. It was just one of those things that happened when Davey was around. Now he is in Jordan and our Sunday's are a little less wild. Although with my family things are very rarely dull.

This summer Jason and I are both going to school full time. Not only is Jason going to BYU full time during the spring and summer semesters, he is also taking the kaplan course so he can take the MCAT at the end of the summer. We are also wanting to go to disneyland after summer semester gets out for the both of us. I haven't been there in years. It's going to be our second BIG trip since we've been married. Our first trip was our honeymoon. We were supposed to fly from SLC to Ft. Lauderdale Florida, but we were literally 5 minutes late checking in and we had to sit there trying to convince the woman that we needed to get there because we had non refundable tickets for a cruise and the reason we were late to check in was because we had to wait in that line. The woman finally found us a flight from SLC to Memphis and from Memphis to Atlanta and then finally from Atlanta to Ft. Lauderdale. We even ended up sleeping on the floor in the Memphis airport (along with a bunch of other people) I slept on an air mattress for a few hours and jason stayed awake watching me and our stuff (he ended up getting some food too) haha. When we finally got to Florida both of our suitcases had been lost and we were told they would be brought to the ship before the end of the day. The end of the day rolled around and Jason's suitcase showed up but not mine. I was so disappointed. I called the phone number they gave me in case the luggage didn't show up, and they told me it should arrive at our next port of call which was key west florida, the NEXT DAY!!! I had all of my clothes in my suitcase and nothing to wear the next day. We ended up buying some clothes on the ship because I had been wearing the same clothes and garments for two days already. (Disgusting, I know) Finally my suitcase came and just in time. The rest of the trip was great. Food all the time, entertainment (song and dance) every night, going to a different place every day, cruises are great.
Well, I thought I had a picture on my computer of the cruise, but I guess I don't. As soon as I find the pictures I will post them.
