11 months old

Can you believe it? Time goes by too quickly! She is so funny and smart. Her personality is so funny, although stubborn like both her parents. She'll say "mama" "Dada" "hi" "eieio" (she loves singing and music, especially old McDonald) she'll do a surprised face and gasp after we do it. She LOVES running around. She mastered walking over a month ago and now she just keeps getting faster. She loves to "help" unload the dishwasher, aka try to climb in, pull dishes out and carry them around. She loves to open the drawer under her bed where we keep her clothes, and pull them out. She loves people!
When I have my camera out she will try to grab it so I have to be quick. She loves eating pizza (dough and pizza sauce). She loves to be in the action, if we're cooking in the kitchen she will need to be in there with us.
She loves to read her books. She'll pull them off the shelf in her room and open them up. We read stories every night as part of bedtime.
she'll throw her food on the floor when she is finished eating/doesn't want it.
She recently started to wag her finger (like she's saying no).

Pan surfing?

Here is a pic to hold you over until the "real" new posts come!
(picture taken about a month ago... ish)

My little busy body! She loves to follow me into the kitchen and open and close all of the cupboards. This time she opened the cupboard with the pots and pans. Shen then proceeded to take out our smallest frying pan and "skate" around the kitchen partially in the pan.

mini update....

Wow. Um, we've been busy (pictures to come soon).
We had a wonderful thanksgiving. My family was able to drive out and spend the holiday with us. We had so much fun and they were such a help. Evie was sick and wanted to be held a lot, which was so nice to have them here to help with that. Anyway, Evie just woke up so I will post pictures and do an actual Thanksgiving post and an update on us...

Halloween

Evie and I went to our ward trunk or treat/halloween party on Saturday evening. It was really fun, there were so many great costumes and we had fun going around getting candy (She even ate her way through a couple of wrappers)

On actual Halloween we went out trick-or-treating with our friend Natalie and her family. Evie and I were glad to get some fresh air and spend time with friends.

And what's a blog post without any pictures? (Especially with how little text I have been using in these posts lately)

You may think she's a bear, but she is in fact a monkey.

2 posts today!

I love this girl soooooo much!!!!!!

I didn't even know the flower and the jacket were the same color until I put the flower on the hat. Perfect coincidence.

Mormon ads

Here's the deal. We had a special meeting a couple months ago at church. Instead of going to Sunday school and 3rd hour we were instructed on the new mormon.org initiation. We were told that in the beginning of October they would start showing "I'm a mormon" commercials in the Denver area on the major networks and have billboards up around town.
I was watching the news a couple of weeks ago and I saw my first mormon ad on national television. It was so neat! If you haven't seen any of them, they are very motivational and heartwarming.
Last week Jason told me he saw the Brandon Flowers mormon ad. We knew he was LDS and we knew he was active. I absolutely loved what he said. I loved how he explained that people would tell him they used to be LDS but they sort of "grew out of it" thinking it would give them some sort of connection, but he says, "I was raised in it, and there's still a fire burning in there." I really love how in the end he didn't even mention he was a member of the killers, he just said he was a husband, a father and a mormon. Sure seems to me he has his priorities in order.  I really hope you get a chance to watch it. The other commercials are fantastic too!

Bday package

I got this in the mail on my birthday from my family. (The giant envelope, not the baby)

"Hey mom, what's this?"

"Yum, paper for me to put in my mouth!"

"Thanks for taking away my paper, I'll just have to make due with this... Until I can get to what's inside"
Don't worry I took it away right after this picture, also, no babies were harmed in the making of this post

Hammond's!!

On wednesday we went with our friends Peggy and her baby Marshall to Hammond's Candies! It's a candy factory here in Denver! What's even better is that they do free tours! It was so much fun, really fun rainy day activity for us.

The candy store

Evie & Marshall before the tour

Woke up, not really sure what was going on

Candy making!

At the end of the tour, our fantastic tour guide gave each of the babies in the tour lollipops for their baby books! Evie got pink (bubblegum) and Marshall got blue (berry something..). Evie knew just what to do with it! (good thing the wrapper was still on, and don't worry, I took it away after the picture)

Yay! We had so much fun at the candy factory, thanks for going with us Peggy & Marshall!

Moccasins

Jason's mom's co-worker, and his wife, made these moccasins for Evie. They even did the beadwork! They are so gorgeous. She now has two pairs of moccasins, both beautiful.
I still can't get over the roses! If you click on the picture you can see the details better. Evie even likes them, if you look closely in the picture you can see a small wet spot on the toes of her left foot, where she tried to eat the moccasin.

Aquarium

We went to the Denver aquarium with our friend Natalie and her two kids. Jason didn't have work so he came with us. I like the aquarium, it was fun, informational, entertaining, and I just plain enjoyed it. The only problem, it's so darn expensive! 15.99 per person! and $7 parking. OUCH! Luckily the baby got in free. I did have fun, and it was worth it. It was really neat seeing all the different fish and we watched a duck dive down and start nipping at a fish. It was really funny. Then there was this bottom feeder fish that would suck up little rocks into its mouth and then spit it out. He was digging a hole. It was really cool!
They also had this little tank where you could touch starfish and stuff. OH! and they had a giant sting ray pool where we could reach in and feel them, that was really cool!!
The Denver aquarium has a neat little show about mermaids! It was really fun! I thought the mermaids were really neat. Although I didn't like how, as Jason put it, "they were teaching false science" They were telling kids that mermaids were real. Still fun though!

Penny, this one is for you.

bwahaha!

Fish are cool!

I love these! Gorgeous!!

After the aquarium. Jason got a couple of pictures on his phone. I'll add them later.

My Harry potter experience!

The flash on my phone went off. It blinded me as well as turned me into a ghost, haha.

Every year since the first Harry potter movie came out, I have been to the midnight showing. And last night was no different. With Evie in tow we went to the theater, found seats, and watched the movie. Evie was asleep and did better than the teenage girls who, as we were walking up the stairs to find our seats, said disgustedly, "She brought a baby?!" Yes, I did, and my baby did better at the movie than your group of girls did. The movie was GREAT. About 30 minutes until the end of the movie.... The power went out! That's right, my baby didn't wake up and ruin the movie, the power went out!!!! The movie flickered and then went out. There were lights still on because of the generator, but the movie wasn't coming back on. We were told to hold onto our ticket stubs, calmly evacuate the theater and leave the building.

It was ridiculous. Someone came outside and told everyone that we could come back the next day and get a raincheck. By the time we left there were cops all around and we were obviously upset.

Oh well. We got our vouchers, but I don't think I will be using them anytime soon... We'll see.

4th

Caidy and Evie on the couch!

I let Evie gnaw on a cold carrot and she LOVED it!

Just sitting

Smiling before going to the fireworks

Cutie

I brought these nikes for Evie and one night I looked out the back porch and saw pretty much the same shoes! They are Janna's and since she left them my mom has been wearing them so I had to get a picture of them wearing matching shoes! (oops, Penny just informed me they are her shoes)

We had a lot of fun in Utah. I love that aerial fireworks are legal in Utah and for a full month! I'm pretty jealous! Anyways... I'll probably put more pictures up later. I just wanted to get some up, plus I got to use my brother's and my parent's cameras!!!!! They are so fun to use. I swear I took at LEAST 1000 pictures.

FOUR YEARS

Yesterday we celebrated our 4 year anniversary! It has flown by so quickly! Our special day fell on a Sunday this year so we went out to dinner on Saturday night. Jason brought us sandwiches on his way home from his preceptor for lunch (2:45 pm ish) so we weren't super hungry by the time dinner rolled around. We (I) decided to go to spaghetti factory because I love the bread and spumoni ice cream. My food was pretty gross, jason's was meh, luckily the bread and ice cream were fantastic. At the end of our meal we decided to buy a gallon tub of the ice cream so, in Jason's words, "we won't have to come back here for a LONG time." Hahaha. Very true!
I was grateful we were able to be at home this year for our anniversary. It was so nice to be home!
